July 18 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. stocks fell, led by technology shares, as disappointing results at Google Inc. , Microsoft Corp. and Merrill Lynch & Co. overshadowed Citigroup Inc.'s smaller- than-estimated loss , extending the yearlong earnings slump.
